Are you a pleaser-type personality?

Jun 09, 2022

I really care what people think of me.

I'm a bit of a pleaser personality type, to be honest.

And gosh, over the years it's made it really hard to make tough decisions about the jobs I've been in.

Here's how it panned out.

I didn't go for new jobs due to my loyalty to my current company.

I didn't ask for pay rises even when I knew I should be paid more because of the economic circumstances at the time (what would they think of me?)

I didn't take time off when I was sick or when projects were due (I had to uphold my work ethic reputation).

Does this happen to you too?

It took me years to realise that I didn't have to be controlled by my pleaser personality and that I could make decisions on what was best for me and my future.

I didn't owe anyone anything.

I didn't need to please.

Maybe you're currently in a job that you don't love anymore but there is something holding you back?

A desire to please perhaps?
