Aimlessly scrolling SEEK? Try this instead…

May 31, 2022

Do I have the correct picture of you…?

You’re not entirely happy in your current role.  You’re considering your options.  You’re not 100% sure what’s next for you so during your lunch break, or whilst traveling on the bus or train you...

…aimlessly scroll through seek.

Because maybe, just maybe, a lightning bolt of career inspiration will come, and you’ll see THE perfect job, you’ll apply for it, get it and ride off into the career fulfillment sunset.

Sounds good, doesn’t it?

But let me guess…there’s not career sunset happening, and you find yourself waking up the next morning heading into that same toxic or boring work environment you were in the day before?

Although it feels like we’re being productive searching for jobs on SEEK, this strategy rarely produces a winning outcome.  It sucks your time; your energy and you end up feeling more deflated than when you started.

Why?

Because you need your job search to be targeted – after you actually know what role, organization, culture, manager, tasks, accountabilities, environment, and team will actually suit you.

You want something that will “light you up”.

Get clarity first. Search second.

Because you don’t want to end up in the same position you are now, just at a different company.

What I see often is people with career buyers regret, jumping from one crappy role to the next.  Even if it is higher in salary, they're no more fulfilled than where they previously were.

What I always teach my students inside the Career Accelerator Program to do is to use a “Role Blueprint” as their guide.  It's a page full of non-negotiables / nice to haves and bonuses that you can rate any new potential job against.

If you'd like, my team and I can help you create a strategy with a FREE non-obligation career call.

It's 15-30minutes of dedicated time for us to help you plan out a career strategy that has you move on from areas that you're struggling with.
